Product Classification with AI JOBS

Prev Next

Introduction

When defining a new Catalog, SKUs may initially be placed under a default Taxonomy Node. If the catalog already contains a taxonomy structure but you’re unsure where each SKU belongs within it, the AI Jobs feature can assist with automated product classification.

AI Jobs analyses your SKUs and provides multiple classification recommendations, indicating the most likely taxonomy nodes for each SKU. For example, it may suggest that a specific SKU could belong to three possible nodes, each with an associated confidence score. You can review these recommendations and accept the most appropriate one based on the confidence level.

Once a recommendation is accepted, the SKU is automatically moved from the default node into the selected taxonomy node, streamlining the classification process and ensuring a more accurate and organized catalog structure.

Pre-requisite: Ensure that ASTRO is enabled for the catalog to use this feature.

Understanding the AI Jobs Screen

To view the list of AI classification jobs, hover over the menu pane in the upper-left corner of the screen and click AI Jobs.

On the AI Jobs screen, you’ll see the list of all the jobs created with the following column headers:

  • AI Job Name -> Indicates the name assigned to the job when SKUs are submitted for AI-based classification.

  • Job Type->  Describes the classification context.

  • Trigger: Source that initiated the job – either via Catalog Import or User Triggered (Product Listing or Product 360 page).

  • Catalog:-> Displays the name of the catalog from which the SKUs were selected for classification.

  • Created By-> The name of the user who initiated the job

  • Created Date-> Date and time when the job was created.

  • Job Status: Shows the current status of the job:

    • In Progress – The job has been initiated, and AI classification is underway.

    • Ready with Recommendations – AI has completed the classification, and suggestions are available for review.

    • No Recommendation – AI was unable to generate classification suggestions for the submitted SKUs.

Along with the job status, the count displayed next to the AI icon indicates the total number of SKUs for which AI classification recommendations are available, and the icon indicates number of SKUs for which the user has accepted AI-recommended classifications.
