Processing the Uploaded Files and Viewing its Status

Once the files are uploaded, you can track their status on the Imports page. The import will be categorized based on the selected import type, as shown in the screenshot below:

  • User-Triggered Import Jobs-> Includes all manually created imports.

  • Perpetual Import-> Lists all imports where External Location (FTP or SFTP) is selected as the file source. 

  • Scheduled Import-> Displays imports that have been scheduled with a specific date and time during the import setup.

How to Process the Imported File

Once the file is uploaded, the Status changes to Import Defined - File Uploading as shown below.

Once the file is uploaded, the Status changes to File(s) Uploaded against the name of the file uploaded and it is also indicated as shown below.

As the file is now successfully uploaded, you need to process the import. Click the Process Import icon next to the file name and the import process starts.

If the file is uploaded using the PCC Standard File type, the import is processed and if it is successfully processed, the Status is updated to Complete. In case of an error, the Status is updated to Error.

If the file is uploaded using User Defined Template, the import goes through the following stages:

  • Loading to Staging -1 - The import is in process and is indicated as shown in the following figure.

  • Loading to Staging-2 – The import then moves to stage -2.

  • Loading Final – The import then moves to the final stage

  • Complete - Once the file is successfully imported, the Status is updated as shown in the following figure.

NOTE

In case of any error during the import process, the Status is updated as Error and you can reprocess the file by clicking the Reprocess Import icon next to the file. In this case, you can delete the import file and start the import process again.

Once an import is completed successfully, the status is updated accordingly, and you can click the Download File icon to download the file(s) that have been imported as shown below.

Depending on the type of file uploaded, vertical or horizontal, the files will be available accordingly.

The total count of the entities imported such as SKUs, attributes, Attribute Values and so on is displayed after the file is successfully imported.

In case of data imported using a user defined template, the count of SKUs added, deleted, and so on are displayed as shown below.

The details of the execution steps are also displayed as shown in the following figure.

Also, if the import is successful, all the data from the file uploaded will now be visible in the selected Catalog. However, if an error has occurred or if the upload is incomplete, you can also delete the file by clicking the Delete Import icon next to the file as shown below.

In case of any error, you can edit the existing import file or add more import files and then reprocess the import process as shown below.

Adding an Import File

Click Add Import File and the following screen appears.

The Import Name and Select Catalog values are already populated as we have selected the already created import file. You can add more files as needed.

Editing an Import File

Click Edit Import File and the following screen appears.

Here, the details of the already uploaded file are displayed. You can only make changes in the parameters of the already uploaded file such as delimiters and so on. You cannot add any new files here nor change the already uploaded files. Click Update Import to upload the changes.

Viewing the Imported Files

The Import page displays the complete list of all files imported along with the status of each of these files. You can sort the files based on the Status or any other data in the various columns as shown in the following figure.

Select the Status from the drop-down list and all files with the selected status are displayed.
