This section provides details on which processes are allowed / not allowed within the Catalog when the import is in process.
If the catalog import is in progress and a new request to import on the same catalog is raised by another user, the new request will be queued (that is, it will be initiated only after the current import process is completed). Also, if a request to export on the same catalog for which import is in process is raised, it will be queued till the import process is complete.
Once you click the Process Import 
icon next to the file name and the import process starts, the catalog gets locked and the status is updated in the Catalogs page as shown below:
Here, an import process has been initiated for catalog C_0801 which is indicated by the Catalog Import is in Progress 
icon on the catalog.
As you launch the catalog, the following message is displayed.
A Catalog Import is in Progress 
icon is enabled on the Catalog Actions bar. You cannot perform some actions till the import process is complete.
The following table lists the behavior of the screens within the catalog when the import is in progress.

Taxonomy Hierarchy | The Add, Edit, Delete, Link/Delink, Move and Edit Photo Assets actions are disabled. The Download Assets action is enabled to download all assets linked to the nodes. |
Taxonomy Metadata Master | All metatag and meta attributes actions are enabled. You can add / edit / delete metatags and meta attributes in nodes as needed. |
SKU Panel | The Download Assets action is enabled to download all assets linked to the SKUs. All the other actions related to SKUs is disabled. |
PF Panel | The Download Assets action is enabled to download all assets linked to the PFs. All the other actions related to PFs is disabled. |
Schema Panel | The Download Assets action is enabled to download all assets linked to the schemas. All the other actions related to schemas is disabled. |

Attributes | The Download Assets action is enabled to download all assets linked to the attributes. All the other actions related to attributes is disabled. |
Attribute Groups | All actions in this panel as disabled. |
Attribute Meta Tags | The attribute meta tags actions are enabled. You can add / edit / delete metatags in attributes as needed. |
Hierarchy | You can only view the hierarchies present in a catalog but cannot add / edit / delete / make any changes in the hierarchy. |
Advance SKU Search | This action is disabled as it is related to SKUs and you cannot perform any actions on the SKUs. |
Style Guides | You can only view and add new style guide rules. However, you cannot perform any checks or fix the errors. |
Reports / Quality Metrics | This action is enabled and you can perform all the functions associated with a report. |
Validation Failures | You can only view the validation failure graphs as applicable. However, you cannot perform any edits on the data. |
Review Dashboard | This action is disabled and you cannot perform any actions on the requests assigned. |
Formula Master | You can only view the existing formula details and create a new formula. The formula cannot be applied on SKUs till the import is in progress. |
Photo Batch Edit | You can view and create the batch edit templates. However, you cannot make any changes. |
Export | A message is displayed stating ‘This catalog is locked because an import was initiated. Do you want to queue this import?’ If you select Yes, the export is queued and will be executed once the import process is complete. |
Bridge Synchronization | This action is disabled, and you cannot sync data between DataBridge and PCC till the import is in progress. |
