Packages

Prev Next

Products are shipped, distributed, and sold in different packaging configurations, such as individual units, boxes, cartons, cases, and pallets. Each packaging level represents a different packaging configuration of the same product and can have its own packaging-specific information, such as dimensions, weight, quantity, and other packaging attributes. Different products may have different packaging hierarchies depending on how they are packaged and sold.

The Packaging module enables users to define packaging units, configure packaging attributes, and maintain packaging information for products in PCC. Packaging information is maintained at the product level, allowing users to create relationships between packaging units and capture the information associated with each packaging level. This enables packaging information to be managed alongside product data within Product 360.

For example, a product may be sold as an Each, where six Each units are packaged into a Box, ten Boxes are packaged into a Carton, and multiple Cartons are packaged onto a Pallet. Each packaging level can store its own attributes, such as dimensions, weight, and constituent units, while maintaining the relationship between the packaging levels. This provides a structured way to manage packaging information for products throughout their lifecycle.

To access Packages, go to Packages menu and you’ll see two options:

  • Package Units

  • Package Attributes
