Managing UoMs

A UoM is a standard used for measuring any quantity such as length, weight, height and so on. PCC has a built-in repository of UoMs. Based on the user permissions granted as mentioned in section Granting Catalog Level and Catalog Independent Privileges, you can add new UoMs that do not exist in the UoM repository provided by Bluemeteor. You can also make changes as well as delete the UoM added. Thus, we will understand how to:

You can view the master list of UoMs in the catalog on the right-hand side panel on screen.

uom_add

Add new unit of measure in the catalog

You can add a new unit of measure in the catalog.

uom_view

uom_edit

Edit unit of measure in the catalog

You can edit the UoM name, symbol, category, etc. This change will automatically get reflected in all Schema definitions and SKU Attribute Values.

uom_view

uom_delete

Delete unit of measure in the catalog

You can delete a UoM which will make it unavailable for any Attribute or SKU attribute value to be associated with it.

Adding UoMs to UoM Repository

You can add more UoMs relevant for the attribute data type chosen by adding them in the repository. These UoMs will be saved and can be used in future.

To add more UoMs:

  1. Open the catalog and click Quick action   (three dotted button).

  2. Click the UoM Master.

      You can scroll through the various UoMs already existing in the repository as well as click the Next Page and         Previous Page icons to see the list of UoMs in the repository.

  1. Click the Add More UoM(s) icon. The following dialog box appears.

  1. Enter the UoM Name, UoM Symbol and UoM Category. For example, let us add a UoM for intensity. UoM Name can be Candela, UoM Symbol can be cd and UoM Category can be Intensity. Click to add multiple UoMs.

  2. Click Add. The UoM is then added to the repository. You can search for the added UoM and the result is displayed as shown below.

NOTE: You can search for UoMs by filtering them based on Name/Symbol/Category. Select the  arrow and choose the filter option.

Editing and Deleting UoMs

You can also edit and delete the UoMs added.

To edit a UoM:

  1. Search for the UoM in the UoM repository panel and then click next to the UoM to be edited as shown below.

  1. Click Edit UoM. The Edit UoM dialog box appears.

  2. Make the necessary changes and then click Submit. The UoM is edited successfully and updated in the repository.

To delete a UoM:

  1. Search for the UoM in the UoM repository panel and then click  next to the UoM to be deleted.

  2. Click Delete UoM. The Delete UoM dialog box appears.

  3. Click Yes if you want to delete the UoM and the UoM is deleted successfully from the repository.
