A SKU can be made available at other nodes through cross listing. “Cross listing” refers to creating a shortcut to a SKU. The actual SKU resides in a single Node only. But there can be other nodes within which the cross-listed SKU is available.
This feature is useful is cases where a customer might want to sell products that are related to the main product being sold but do not fall under the same category. For example, if we consider Watches as the main product being sold, the company might want to show other accessories such as Watch cases (to store watches), Watch Straps (multiple color options) which are relevant to Watches but are not part of the same hierarchy from a Catalog point of view. Thus, cross listed SKUs will enable in achieving this.
You can cross list one or more SKUs to one or more nodes, view details of cross listed SKUs as well as remove them from nodes. However, SKUs can be cross listed only within the same Taxonomy hierarchy.
NOTE | You cannot make any changes to the cross listed SKU, that is you cannot change the Attribute Values, nor move the SKU or attach it to a PF as these are just replicas of actual SKUs. However, you can link/delink assets to cross listed SKUs. |
Following are the three options available for cross listing SKUs:
Adding SKU Cross Listing
Let us consider a SKU present in node Watch Box Case to be cross listed to a node Digital. So, the hierarchy is as follows: A SKU from Accessories > Watch Box Case is to be cross listed to the node Accessories > Watches > Digital. Let us understand how to cross list the SKU.
To add SKU cross listing:
Select the node and then select the SKU to be cross listed (that is, the SKU that will appear in another node) from the selected node. In this case, select the SKU from the node Watch Box Case.
Click the Crosslisting
icon from the middle panel in the SKU view and then click Add SKU Cross Listing as shown below.

OR
Right-click the SKU and then click Cross Listing > Add SKU Cross Listing.

Figure 146: Add SKU cross listing
The following screen appears.

The SKU to be cross listed is displayed on the right side and the left side displays the taxonomy tree to select the node for the SKU to be cross listed.
Select the node and the node selected is displayed as shown below. In this case, select the node Digital.
NOTE | Since we have selected the SKU from the node Watch Box Case, this node will be disabled in the taxonomy tree as shown below, as you cannot cross list a SKU in the same node. It will always be cross listed to a different node. |

Figure 147: Node selected for cross listing
Click Crosslist SKU and the SKU is cross listed successfully in the node. The cross listed SKU is indicated in the node with the green color
icon as shown below.

Figure 148: View cross listed SKU
Hover the mouse on the icon and the details of the node from where the SKU is cross listed is displayed.

The cross listed SKU appears faded as you cannot make any changes to the SKU here. It is just a reflection of the actual SKU. However, any changes made in the original SKU will be reflected in all the nodes where this SKU is cross listed.
If the original SKU is moved to a different node, the taxonomy path will be updated for all cross listed SKUs and can be viewed when you hover the mouse on the icon.
Also, the original SKU is updated with the blue color
icon indicating that this SKU is now cross listed to another node. When you hover the mouse on the icon, it displays the nodes where the SKU is cross listed to as shown below.

Figure 149: View details of SKUs cross listed to nodes
Similarly, you can cross list multiple SKUs to multiple nodes.
You can also further cross list an already cross listed SKU to another node in two ways which are as follows:
Select the same original SKU mentioned in the above procedure and cross list it to another node.
OR
Go to the node where the SKU is cross listed, that is, Accessories > Watches > Digital and cross list the same SKU from this node to another node. However, always remember that the actual SKU will always be the original SKU and all cross listed SKUs will be replicas or reflection of the actual SKU.
NOTE | The count of SKUs in a node will only indicate the actual SKUs and cross listed SKUs that are placed in a node will not be considered in the count. |
