This feature provides a flexible and efficient way to manage and customize Product Information within the system to meet the diverse needs of different contexts without duplicating entire SKU records. Allows the PIM user to store multiple values for the same Attribute of a single SKU.
It emphasizes the importance of tailoring Product Attributes for specific use cases while maintaining a central Catalog structure.
The values for these attributes are nuanced and tailored for specific contexts such as different marketing channels, markets, promotions, geographical locations (cultures), websites, and target demographics. This allows for a personalized approach to SKU content based on predefined custom usages.
For example, SKU has a "base" marketing copy, but this copy can be adjusted or customized for different purposes without necessarily creating an entirely new SKU. Only certain attributes are modified to make them suitable for specific uses.
Steps to Add Context:
Select the attribute which has locale enabled and click on the
icon.You’ll land on All enabled locale values with different contexts pop-up.
Click on +Create new context then add the context name and add the attribute value.
Now click on Context drop-down where you can see added context in the list with the attribute value added under the specific attribute category.
If you want to reuse an existing context with different value, click Add new context value.
Select from the existing list of contexts as shown in the screenshot below and add the new attribute value.
