Why PCC?

Any industry vertical that deals with products has an ecosystem of several companies who may be involved in the various phases of a product’s lifecycle starting from manufacturing through distribution. How PCC fits in as a Functional Model

PCC as a model is functional from both a manufacturer’s as well as from a distributor’s point of view. In case of a manufacturer, the product data needs to be sent to various channel partners selling the manufacturer’s products whereas in case of a distributor, the product data is being acquired from various sources who are supplying products to the distributor. Thus, in both scenarios, the data needs to be transformed, and PCC helps in achieving this through its various built-in modules.

Using PCC modules, the manufacturers as well as the distributors can automate onboarding of data, manage digital assets, manage browse, and search experience, build SKUs, and put governance rules around data for consistency all within one platform.

In case of a manufacturer, each of their channel partners will have different requirements and standards of how the products are categorized and described, that is, the catalog structure will be different from the manufacturer’s internal catalog. This is where PCC fits in for a manufacturer who can create multiple catalogs for respective channel partners and the product data can now be curated, managed and transformed to align with channel partners’ required formats and structure.

In the case of a distributor, all the incoming product data from different suppliers must be transformed to bring uniformity as per the distributor’s internal catalog structure. This is where PCC fits in for a distributor who can now transform and transfer the supplier’s catalog information to align with its internal catalog structure before selling the products.
