Enrich (Update Only) Channel

The Update Channel is designed to enrich existing items in the target catalog without creating or deleting any SKUs. It ensures that only pre-existing items are updated by matching SKUs between the source and target catalogs based on user-defined matching logic. Once the SKUs are identified, global attribute transformation rules are applied to map and enhance the attributes found in both catalogs. This process helps ensure data consistency, improves product information quality, and seamlessly integrates updates without disrupting the existing catalog structure.

Launch Enrich (Update) Only Channel:

When you create a channel and select the Enrich (Update Only) option under the mapping method, follow these steps to launch the Enrich channel:

  1. Upon creation of the channel when you land on the channel listing page, click Launch.

You’ll land on the following page:

  1. In the Item Matching Configuration:

    1. Select the source attribute or Item Id from the dropdown list.

    2. Select the matching logic from Exact as is value or Remove special character and white space options.

    3. Select the target attribute or Item Id from the dropdown list.

      Note: If you select source item id with target item id or an attribute to any item id then only Exact as-is value will be available under Matching Logic dropdown.

  2. For the matching logic to be case sensitive, check Use case sensitive match checkbox.

  3. To add another set of matching logic, you can click on Add Matching Logic.

  4. You can click on icon to delete any added matching logic.

  5. Click Next.

You’ll land on the Attribute Mapping section.

Apart from the attributes you’ve added with matching logic in the previous screen you can find all the other attributes listed.

  1. Map the attributes between source and target catalog using attribute values present in the source catalog and LoVs in the target catalog. This mapping can be done by applying the various attribute mapping rules supported in PCC, for more information refer to section Different Types of Attribute Mapping Rules.

Based on the attributes mapped between the source and target catalog, the mapping relationship is displayed through the arrow indicating the link between them as shown in the screenshot below.  

  1. You can click on the rule to edit and delete which is same as that mentioned in Full CRUD method section.

  1. Once the required attributes are mapped, click Next to proceed.

  2. On the Summary section, you can view the following details:

    1. Total Matched SKUs- The number of SKUs that exist in both the source and target catalogs based on matching criteria.

    2. Total Mapped Attributes- The count of attributes that have been successfully mapped between the source and target catalogs.

    3. Number of Unmapped Source Attribute(s)- The number of attributes in the source catalog that have not yet been mapped to the target.

    4. Number of Unmapped Target Attributes(s)- The number of attributes in the target catalog that do not have a corresponding mapped attribute from the source.

    5. Pre-Transformed View-   Pre-transformed view gives you an overview of how your catalog data is going to look after you build the channel. For each rule applied and attribute maps created, you can preview the changes before even actually building the channel.

Click the arrow to open the preview map as illustrated in the screenshot below:

On the pre-transformed view, you can view the source and target attributes that are mapped under Toggle Attribute Visibility dropdown. You can search for attributes using search filter. You can select all/deselect all options for attributes.

  1. Click Finish to create Enrich Channel.

You’ll land on the Channel Listing page with the newly created channel.

Channel Dashboard for Enrich Channel

To go to Channel Dashboard, click on the View Channel Dashboard icon on the channel card as shown below:

You’ll land on the following page:

The channel dashboard page for Enrich channel consist of the following options:

  • Channel Details:

    • Source -> Displays the name of the source catalog used in the channel and the Realm to which it belongs under which the source catalog was created.

    • Target -> Displays the name of the target catalog along with the Realm under which the selected target catalog was created.

    • Channel Enablement Progress -> Displays the mapping progress for a channel, showing the percentage of completed mappings between the source and target catalogs.

    • Project Status-> This section displays the project status. When the channel is actively used for mapping nodes and attributes between the source and target catalogs, the status is marked as Open. The status will update based on the project's current progress.

  • Channel Actions:

    • Delete Channel -> Allows the user to delete the channel.

    • Build Channel -> Functions similar to the Build Channel option, refer to Build Channel section under Channel Action for Full CRUD.

    • Assign Roles Manager-> Using this option you can add a new role and assign catalog level, channel level privileges. For detailed information, refer to User Role Management section.

    • Force Build All SKUs-> Like the Force Build All SKUs option under Full CRUD, for more details refer to Force All SKUs to be Rebuilt under Channel Action for Full CRUD.

    • Backup Channel Mapping-> Functions like the Backup Channel Mapping option, for more details refer to Backup Channel Mapping section under Channel Action for Full CRUD.

    • Restore Channel Mapping-> Similar to the option under Full CRUD, refer to section Restore Channel Mapping under Channel Action for Full CRUD.

  • Channel Status -> For details, refer to section Channel Status under Full CRUD Channel Dashboard section.

  • Builds → Showcases Build details similar to Builds in Full CRUD Channel Dashboard. For more details, refer to the Builds section under Full CRUD Channel Dashboard.
