Using this feature, you can create a duplicate of an existing template which will be saved as a new template. This is useful in cases where the structure and components present in an existing template can be reused as the new template being created will have minor changes. For example, an existing template consists of SKU attribute values which are added as part of PCC components apart from the other components. In the duplicate being created, you need to only remove the SKU attribute value component and retain the other structure. In such cases, instead of creating a new template, you can simply create a copy of an existing template and make minor changes in the newly saved template.
Click the Copy Template
icon in the Action column next to the template for which a copy is to be created as shown below.

The following dialog box is displayed.

By default, ‘Copy of’ is appended to the name of the template. You can change the name of the template as well the description as needed. Also, you can choose whether the template can be modified or not.
Click Submit and a copy of the template selected is created as shown below.

Click the Edit Template
icon next to this newly saved template and make any changes as needed.
Note | You can also change the name of the template. However, the name should be unique else an error message is displayed as shown below. |
